About Neighbors Ready!

Getting prepared together is fun, builds friendships, and may save your life or the lives of your family, neighbors, and friends. Natural disasters like wildfires, floods, severe storms have been increasing in the last few decades. We are stronger together in the face of these dangers.
It's not just about our neighborhood. It's about your neighborhood, too. Our educational meetings cover topics such as building a go kit, storing water and supplies, constructing a simple sanitation system, establishing family emergency plans, and more. Our programs are free; everyone is welcome to attend our events.
Our mission is to create caring, connected, and resilient neighborhoods. We are committed to making sure that every neighbor in our communities is prepared and has the best chance of survival in the event of a disaster.
Our Mission is to CreatE Caring, Connected, and Resilient Neighborhoods. We are committed to making sure that every neighbor in our communities is prepared and has the best chance of survival in the event of a disaster.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Diversity increases resiliency. We respect and care for everyone. We are committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for our volunteers and neighbors across all backgrounds, ethnicities, ages, genders, religions, identities, and viewpoints. We acknowledge and express gratitude for the land we share. In remembering our native communities, we honor their legacy, their lives, and their continuation in our community. Everyone is welcome.

Strength in Numbers

Professional first responders will not be able to help individuals in such a large natural disaster for an extended period. We can create a community where neighbors have the tools and knowledge and a plan to make sure everyone has the best possible chance of surviving. Our predictable future, if we do nothing? We could lose it all—our lives, homes, and neighbors.  We need to be prepared and connected with each other—so that we can be resilient in the face of any disaster.

Join the Team

Neighbors Ready! is a grassroots group of volunteers who are helping neighbors by offering educational events, information, and a variety of opportunities to learn about easy ways you can prepare for emergencies and disasters.  Contact us for more information.
Our volunteers come from all walks of life--neighbors who want to make a difference, learn, and get involved. Our volunteers include members of
Quake Up, the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), and other community organizations, as well as our neighbors who want to learn and get involved. You can participate too! Come to one of our meetings and join the fun.  We can also help get your block prepared with a free disaster response training session with the neighbors on your block.

Neighborhood readiness is a simple, fun way to get to know our neighbors so that you aren’t alone or isolated in a disaster. With a minimal amount of time and energy,  you and your neighbors can learn a tried-and-true 9-step survival strategy and craft a plan to follow when a catastrophe hits.  If you live in Cedar Hills or Beaverton, Oregon, and you'd like to host a Neighborhood Ready! meeting on your block, you can contact us for help. We can provide facilitators for your meeting, handouts, and booklets. Check out our information sheet for hosts in Cedar Hills. Check out our Neighborhood Ready! page for more detailed information.
